Historique :	Comme la plupart des Christ en croix, cette oeuvre est très peu documentée. Elle est référencée dans le pré-inventaire comme étant du 19e siècle ou du 20e siècle. La datation des Christ en croix est délicate, d'autant plus qu'il s'agit ici d'une facture très certainement locale. Cependant, l'attitude du crucifié, le rendu et le traitement stylistique des drapés et de l'anatomie, permettent de rattacher cette oeuvre davantage au 18e siècle. Cette hypothèse est confirmée par une rapide analyse comparative sur la base de données Palissy qui permet de rapprocher stylistiquement le Christ de Guérard du Christ en croix de Dun-le-Palestel dans la Creuse. Ce dernier est inscrit au titre des Monuments historiques comme étant du 18e siècle.
