Historique :	Ce tableau fut sans doute donné à la collégiale par le peintre, ancien maire de la commune.

Précision_sur la representation :	L'état actuel de ce tableau ne permet guère de se faire une idée complète de sa composition. Néanmoins, il présente une originalité dès à présent discernable. Marie est tout d'abord représentée comme une jeune paysanne vêtue d'un costume simple assez moyen-oriental : longue tunique sombre de type djellaba ou gandoura recouverte d'un ample manteau clair un voile diaphane recouvre sa tête et s'enroule autour des épaules. Son côté jeune et innocent est accentué par le geste de surprise qu'elle esquisse et le fait qu'elle détourne son regard de l'ange qui paraît l'effrayer, survenant alors qu'elle était en train de filer au rouet.
