Historique :	En ce qui concerne l'histoire locale, il faut rapprocher ce Christ en croix de la toile conservée dans la même église (PM77002426), datée de 1646, Jésus et la Samaritaine (transept côté nord, mur est) : s'y retrouve le même coeur enflammé et la dédicace de François Allaine, curé, en bas à gauche.

Précision_sur la representation :	Le Christ est pendu à la croix, les bras en V mais assez écartés. Il porte un perizonium ample, dont le drapé travaillé revient en noeud sur le côté droit. La poitrine, large, à la musculature bien dessinée, se rétrécit nettement au niveau du ventre et de l'aine. Les jambes se superposent l'une sur l'autre, la droite par-devant. La barbe et les cheveux sont abondants, travaillés avec une grande souplesse. Le visage est légèrement tourné vers la droite, grave, les yeux baissés, la bouche entrouverte.
