Historique :	La Pietà n'est bien évidemment pas à son emplacement d'origine, étant antérieure au retable qui l'abrite. Cependant le groupe s'intègre parfaitement, de par son iconographie, au thème de la Passion présentée sur le retable ; la Vierge reçoit son fils mort dans ses bras, comme descendu de la croix sculptée située au-dessus de la niche.

Précision sur_l'état :	Le groupe était recouvert d'une peinture grossière qui ne laissait plus voir la finesse de la sculpture, une intervention en 2008 a permis de redécouvrir l'oeuvre.
Précision_sur la representation :	Le traitement anatomique du Christ et l'iconographie (à partir de la Renaissance, le corps du Christ ne repose plus entièrement sur les genoux de Marie, mais repose sur le sol avec le buste en appui contre elle) font dater l'oeuvre du 16e siècle.
