Précision_sur la representation :	Si c'est une dalmatique que porte le saint, alors il pourrait s'agir, comme il l'a été suggéré, de saint Etienne, patron de la paroisse, diacre et martyr ; néanmoins, il nous semble que cet habit rouge soit plutôt une chasuble de la Pentecôte ou des fêtes des apôtres et des martyrs, et que ce personnage portant un livre soit plutôt un prêtre. L'iconographie serait alors en faveur de saint Valentin, prêtre romain auquel été dédié un pèlerinage au hameau de Villeneuve-la-Hurée de Voinsles, et dont des reliques seraient conservées en l'église Saint-Pierre de Melun.
