Historique :	Le chanoine Guillaume Frémyn demande au peintre Jean Senelle (peintre natif de Meaux) de représenter cette scène pour exprimer la fidèlité du clergé de Meaux et de sa famille à la reine Anne d'Autriche aux prises avec la Fronde. Solidaire de son époque, le peintre revêt la reine Bathilde du manteau d'hermine à fleurts de lys d'Anne d'Autriche.

Précision sur l'inscription :	Toile signée et datée (en bas à droite) : J. SENELLE 1649. Armoiries (en bas à gauche) : l'écusson de Claude Frémin : d'argent au chevron de gueules, deux merlettes de sable en chef, un arbre de sinofle en pointe (prunier de reines claude).
Précision_sur la representation :	La reine Bathilde accourt à l'appel de saint Eloi, évêque de Noyon, mais elle arrive trop tard : déjà les anges emportent l'âme d'Eloi au Paradis.
