Historique :	Le cardinal de Bérulle introduira en France l'ordre des Carmélites. Sa dépouille mortelle sera répartie entre trois sépultures construites. Le tombeau du corps, oeuvre de Michel Anguier, sera construit dans l'église de l'Oratoire. Il n'en subsiste qu'un buste conservé dans l'église Saint-Eustache. Le monument du bras droit trouvera sa place au collège des Oratoriens de Juilly. Cette oeuvre y fut déposée en 1803, elle provennait du dépôt revolutuionnaire des Petits Augustins à Paris (Courajod et Inventaire général). Le cénotaphe du coeur exposé au Louvre a été commandé le 26 novembre 1653 par Edouard le Camus, ancien procureur à la Cour des aides, pour la chapelle Sainte-Madeleine du grand couvent des Carmélites, rue d'Enfer (actuelle rue Saint-Jacques) à Paris, ce cénothaphe a été attribué au Louvre en 1906. Le sculpteur Jacques Sarrazin (1592-1660) est l'un des cofondateurs de l'Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture (1948) qu'il va diriger de 1654 à 1660.
